Eric Nakassa is a musician and furniture designer based in Brooklyn, NY. Born in Tokyo and raised in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington, he received his BDes in Industrial Design from the University of Washington in 2020. He relocated to New York City upon graduation and began working as an in-house furniture designer and draftsman at Atelier Jouffre in Long Island City, developing custom high-end upholstered furniture for interior designers and private clients. In 2022, he joined Studio Giancarlo Valle, an award-winning international design practice recognized by Architectural Digest AD100. As a furniture designer at Studio Giancarlo Valle, he designed the studio's growing furniture and lighting collection as well as one-of-a-kind pieces for a wide array of residential and commercial projects. He joined In Common With in 2025. Eric maintains his own design practice on the side, having exhibited personal works during NYCxDesign week and taking on private commissions.
